Lyrixound - auto find lyrics for current playing song

It's easy to get started: launch the app and play music on your favorite player or website. Lyrixound will automatically* find lyrics for the current song.

Display lyrics for current track

In case of lyrics were not found you can correct the artist/title and search another time.

Main program features

Main window

Functions of buttons on right up corner:
  • open lyrics source, for example in case lyrics is found on Google, it opens web-page
  • enable/disable displaying lyrics window at topmost
  • open settings window
Below text fields for artist and title with the button to perform a search.

The main area is for lyrics.

At the bottom you can expand the panel for detailed customization of how lyrics are displayed. There is the ability to change font size, family, and style, choose text alignment. Besides this, you can change text colors, sizes, and colors of text shadow.

Lyrixound settings

You can open the settings window by click on the appropriate icon at the top of the window, or by click on the menu item of the tray icon.

Main settings

The main settings tab allows to changing the directory to save found lyrics. The app saves lyrics to text files named according to the pattern option.
Interval time is the time in seconds to check music players for a new track.

Providers settings

Lyrixound uses every search provider enabled on this tab until it will find lyrics. The order of providers can be changed by mouse drag and drop. The current app version supports two providers: search on Google and in the local folder.


*The application can detect current song info on Windows 10 1809 and newer. Modern music players and browsers are supported. For example, Windows Media Player is not supported, as for AIMP, you should install a plugin.

This manual will be updated when the app evolves.

    This is a pretty good start, and works pretty flawlessly!

    Maybe you could add scrolling lyrics? (like the original foobar2000 plugin/ musixmatch)

      Hi, Google parser stopped working again, so you should disable it in the settings and move Musixmatch provider to the top. Please make sure you use the latest version (1.2.2)

      Thanks, i thought it works on every app, it didnt on musicbee. Also if possible it would be good Synced lyrics. Also there is an app called versefy which is similar to yours

      Thanks for testing. Seems like MusicBee does not support System Media Transport Controls (https://github.com/ModernFlyouts-Community/ModernFlyouts/blob/main/docs/GSMTC-Support-And-Popular-Apps.md). My app relies on it, because most music players and browsers support it. I definitely want to add synced lyrics, I already found a free API, so I hope I'll find some time for this soon.

    Very useful!

      Thank you, if you mean the purple background for the current line, I added the option to change the color. But I will fix a few more bugs before deploy the new version.

      oh i actually meant the entire window's transparency so like only the lyrics would be visible while leaving the purple lined background for synced lyrics ^^ thank you for your hard work!!

    That's cool bro. I like this!
    However, I encountered some problems while using it. For example, sometimes I wanted to click on an empty area where the application was located, so I had to move it. Perhaps a lock function could be added to prevent accidental touches in system tray. Hope you consider my suggestion. Anyway, thanks you for this app!

    I have a problem when the lyrics always instantly go to the very bottom when first start., I think it's detected as sync even when it actually not because I can see the active bar at very bottom

    And do you have a plan to add dark mode? I know it can go to transparent mode but It's so bright and my eyes can't take it for too long when the app start XD

    And I have a sugesstion to add a button to go the source of the lyrics that being used, so I can contribute more in there.

    BTW this is the BEST windows lyrics App since the death of minilyrics. I hope it can grow even bigger both features and community

    For me it works but there is no way to change the size of the window idk why but it also doesnt show if i go into fullscreen on an app

      You should be able to resize if move the mouse cursor on the right-bottom corner of the app

Applications to find lyrics

I love listening to music and sing along. So, what is the easiest way to find lyrics? Indeed, you can just google it. Besides, some applications can automatically find lyrics.  For Android , I have tried such applications as Musixmatch , QuickLyric , or Genius . As for  Windows  programs you can use  Musixmatch  or MiniLyrics . Also, there are plugins for some players. For example for Spotify or AIMP . But in my opinion, all these tools have two main disadvantages. Firstly, they support a limited number of music players. Secondly, they often search only on their own database, so sometimes lyrics cannot be found. Thus, I decided to develop a universal application for these goals. It supports any music player or browser on Windows 10 . And searching will be performed on several online databases to decrease the need for a manual search.
